WELCOME

Matt Pugh began his racing career after attending the 2006 Jayhawker at Lakeside Speedway. After purchasing a used modified that was race ready, they needed to find out if Matt could drive it. Scott Crystal & Jim Whistler set the car up and Scott test drove it for several laps and the car looked good. Matt strapped in for his first time in any race car. Wow! He started out easy and was looking good at lap 30. The car  came  out of turn 2 and was on its fastest lap when the engine exploded and caught fire. We were hooked and began the restoring process. The car was stripped to a bare chassis, painted and reassembled. Bill Pugh assembled a 383 SBC and in 2007 they started practicing at local small tracks. Lakeside Speedway had a midweek practice and with Matt's work schedule at Shawnee Mission Ford, the team decided to run Lakeside on Fri Nights. Matt finished that season with some great runs in the Octoberfast Series and some valuable seat time in a Dirt Modified. For 2008 the team purchased a Hughes Chassis and came out with a new car which they had to learn all over. By mid season the car started coming in and Matt had a great finish, 31st in points his first full season.
